For the past 29 years the Huron River Fest has continually been one of the area’s top festivals providing a weekend a family-friendly summertime fun. This year the Huron River Fest Committee has been monitoring the Covid-19 pandemic with the hope and anticipation of hosting the festival. Unfortunately, the committee has made the tough decision to cancel this year’s event due to gathering restrictions and social distancing orders.

“We understand the large financial impact that the festival has on our community, civic organizations, vendors and community as a whole. But ultimately, we have to take the health and safety of our residents, visitors and volunteers into account,” stated William Biddlecombe, President of the Huron River Fest. “As a non-profit, we rely solely on donations local businesses, who’ve been adversely affected from the fallout of Ohio’s stay at home order, so we felt it was not appropriate to ask them to stretch themselves even further” Biddlecombe said.

The Huron River Fest Committee will continue to honor the 2020 scholarships they have committed to.

“We are also pleased to announce the 2019/2020 First Attendant, Caylin McCormick will be crowned the 2020/2021 Huron River Fest Queen,” stated Biddlecombe. McCormick along with Alaina Parkinson (2019/2020 Queen) will together represent the Huron River Fest throughout the upcoming year and will both will receive scholarships upon graduation from high school.

On behalf of the Huron River Fest Committee,
stay safe and healthy!
